uTorrent problem

Name: Anonymous 2006-07-09 3:09

Sometime when I'm downloading something, it REALLY slows down my computer. Even if uTorrent is the only program running.

I believe the OP didn't ask how to slow his PC down further.

if uTorrent slows down your computer you must be doing something incredibly wrong.... 0_o

Exactly. uTorrent is poorly coded. Use Azureus.

Slows down computer processing or internet browsing?

To answer the question: probably hash checking. Even Azureus doesn't slow down only for downloading. There's probably an option in there for friendly hashing which uses less resources.

uTorrent definitely uses CPU at times, which I've noticed at while running ePSXe. >>2 has a strange sense of humor though.

If you suddenly close uTorrent (kill process sudden reboot) it will fuck up its index and will have to check all thoe downloaded torrents again. It could take a while if you have a lot of big ass torrents running.
