Foobar2000 unicode

Name: Anonymous 2006-07-06 7:20

ok so i grew out of the suckage that is winamp and switched to foobar2000. despite claiming to have full unicode support, some of my tracks dont show up as it should, and some are ok (i have no such problem in winamp when i started it with applocale).

i have a vast library of chinese and japanese songs, i would prefer unicode support to be jap.

Check your mp3 tags -- they may not be proper unicode tags.  Use something like mp3tag to batch convert from a specific codepage into proper unicode.

Just a word of warning though, I've had my share of Chinese tags that would always get fucked up when read again after being written to the file.  Not sure if it was particular to a buggy version of mp3tag or if the double-byte included the id3v2 field terminator.  I ended up using apev2 tags to overcome this.
