I spent $420 on computer hardware tonight because my $40 motherboard died and I thought to myself:
"Self, as long as you're buying a $50 motherboard you might as well buy a processor"
"Self, as long as you're buying a $170 processor you might as well buy a fancy heatsink"
"Self, as long as you're buying the most expensive heatsink and fan you can find, you might as well buy a new case"
My old setup played Oblivion fine on nigh-max settings. I think that I have a computer problem.
