They only affect performance if your computer is ancient. Plus both the luna theme and classic theme are made out of .bmp's so nothings lost at either ou chose.... maybe you eyes though.

Fail. Themes are slower in any system. And you're repeating the Microsoft® Myth™ that classic is just like other themes. It's not. You can also disable the theming service to reclaim more wasted RAM.
