Is it possible that graphic card dies as result of puling out CD-drive withouth system shutdown?

Yeah, you should turn off your computer before removing internal hardware.

Sorry but...you didn't turn off your computer before taking it apart?...

I was in real hurry so I quicly pulled it off, did it before, nothing happend. Also I don't see how graphic card is connected with cd-rom anyway...if anything I whould expect power supply.

Yeah. NEVER remove internal hardware with the power turned on. Just because it worked once doesn't mean that a stray spark won't hit something else in the case.

When you remove hardware with the power on, you create teeny, tiny power spikes throughout your system. Normally, such a small spike wouldn't be anything to worry about. But, when you consider that a computer runs on MUCH more delicate equipment than other things in your house, an increase/decrease by even half a volt can decimate some pieces of hardware.

if you like ripping CD drives out of running computers, you should really look into getting a USB drive.
