XP or Vista?

I am pretty happy with XP at the moment, but everyday, Vista is all I hear. My current machine does not have enough power to run vista, but I plan on getting a new box soon. Would Vista be better for this box or XP? I assume new drivers will start coming out for both Vista and XP, and eventually, only Vista.

Also, how stable is Vista currently?

XP, stupid. Vista is made of digital restrictions management, treacherous computing, bloatware, waste of system resources, money expenditure on new hardware, useless transparency, and non-functional eyecandy. I wouldn't use it even if Microsoft paid me to.

Seriously, I use Windows 2000 at home, and I'll move to Windows XP 64 bit once I get a couple of device drivers I need ported. Then I'll stick to it for as long as I can, and then I'll move to ReactOS (if it's mature enough) or Linux, but I won't ever use Windows Vista.
