hey /g/, anyone know what's the deal with ubuntu and dual core computers?
I was trying to run an ubuntu Live CD on my PC with an Intel D processor (dual core) but ubuntu kept getting "stuck" before loading right when there's a bunch of white text on black background.
i checked the CD and it had no errors, so i tried out the same CD on my laptop and it worked perfectly.
Now, i'm no tech guy, so maybe it isnt the dual core causing me problems, but that's just my though.
can anyone help me with this?

Probably should run the text-only installation disc instead.

Dapper is a pain in the ass. Crashed with me, too.
Try Breezy. Should work better...

if the people at UBUNTUforums can't help you with UBUNTU, then maybe you just have to accept that your hardware just sucks and move on.

the hardware doesn't suck, it's a fucking new computer with a new motherboard that the dev team had briefly made a fix for, then some shit happened and the fix was somehow removed. shit, i'm getting more help out of /g/ than i am out of here or ubuntuforums.org... and this is supposed to be for support...
