Overclocking Mobility

Name: Honis !ZtIxy9nLcA 2006-06-14 23:25

I'm running an Inspiron 6000.
Intel Pent M 1.73GHz (lvl 1: 8KB, lvl 2: 2MB)
ATI Mobility Radeon X300
1 Gig RAM DDR2 533(2x 512MB Dual Channel)
60 Gig hard drive

Any thoughts on what I can overclock and how?

I'm currently playing with RadClocker but it doesn't seem to be increaasing frame rates. The core and RAM where originally clocked at 99MHz and 100MHz (it was around 100).  I have it up to 438.75 MHz currently.  My largest problem seems to be that everytime I increase the rates, the screen turns into a colorful static (much like static on an older TV only with colors).  After about 30 seconds it black outs and then everything is back to normal, but seemingly no improvement.

Update:

After a search on the specs of my video card I clocked the core to 350 and the memory to 300.  Brought my 3dMark05 scores from 1323 to 1582.

So any thoughts on how far the card can go without burning up or on how to clock other components?

You're probably already at the limit of what that chip can do inside your laptop. Any further and you'd need to do some modding to get bettery cooling onto that chip

Anything I can use to bump CPU, memory, or hard drive speeds?

Hard Drive speed overclocking..... now that's a thought..... easiest way so to get a faster hdd. Cpu and Memory setting is not accessible in anyway.

Attach an ice cube to the biggest chip on my modem with an elastic band... apparently it works.

ALright I'm a n00b at this, I admit it...

#6: RadClocker does just fine.

Maybe if I stick my labtop in my freezer it will go faster!!!! (fuck you guys)
