LCD Monitor horizontal lines

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-05 22:10

About 2 weeks ago, I posted here asking about my LCD monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 570S tft), which begun to show horizontal lines that scrolled up (and down) the screen for a short while after startup.  Well, it's gotten alot worse now.  Before it was only for a few minutes after powering on the monitor.  Then it was late at night too.  Then it became nearly constant, but they went away if I changed the refresh rate.  Then it became constant unless I changed the resolution.  Now the horziontal line flickering is constantly on my screen, and it makes reading things hard and playing games nearly impossible.  Changing the image lock, or any other monitor settings, does not help.  I won't have a job until next month, so I wont be paid until the following month, at best, so buying a new monitor, even a cheap CRT, is out of the question.  So I ask you, is there anything I can do, other than suffer through this for the next month and a half?  I know that CRT monitors are not supposed to be opened, as they hold an electric charge for a long time, but does the same prohibition stand for LCDs?  Would I even be able to fix anything by opening this thing?

Thanks
