All my shortcuts are messed up, they all don't work anymore, and it has an .ink extension, Don't know what that is. MOST of my files will not execute, almost 90percent or more of my .exe files aren't opening. I tried everything but im' not good at these stuff. emergency help please! T_T

I found some registry that will supposedly fix everything, but I can't add them. Using Regedit doesn't work since an error will pop up asking me which program I should use to open it with. any help?

OK I got it to work thanks to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.html . People should bookmark it for future reference just in case........ Btw this happened to me twice already, what causes the registry to mess up?

Oops, http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm is the correct link. With the "l" in html it doesn't work for me. O_O

That's because htm and html files aren't quite the same.

Ok, first off:

Don't shut down your PC like that. That's what's known as a Hard power down. (or something along those lines) It means Windows doesn't have the chance to save the shit it needs to save to disk.

It's just generally a bad way to shut down your PC. Only use it if a) your computer crashed, and there's no way to snap it out. or b) your computer already shutdown, and it's waiting at the "It's ok to turn off your computer" screen (only applicable for Windows 9x)

ACTUALLY IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS XP INSTALLED ON A NON-ACPI COMPUTER YOU WILL GET THE SAME SCREEN
