Keyboard problem

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-31 8:18

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my keyboard, I hope that I can get a little help here.
I just got a new computer recently(2-3 months ago), but after about 2 weeks of smooth operation, the keyboard stopped working, the num lock light is still up, but all the keys are just unresponsive, I tried uninstalling the keyboard at the hardware manager, and after restarting it will work, but as soon as I restart the computer again, the same problem strikes.
What I need to know is, is it the keyboard's problem or is something wrong with my computer? And if possible, how can I fix it?

Try hooking up your keyboard to another computer and see if it works and hook another keyboard to your computer to see if it works. It's simple deduction.

Try an IBM Model M keyboard or similar.

If it turns out to be your USB port's problem, try updating the firmware. Only do it when you run out of ideas though, because the process can't be reversed.
