Well, the Model M is considered 'legendary' in a sense that it still carries some advantages over dome-switch models of today, but there is no real mouse that comes to mind that can overtake anything out there today. Some may have better build quality, but nothing from the days of yore compare to the precision of optical/laser mice right now. There are some memorable novelty mice like the Spaceball line.
Then again, real men don't rely on mice.

Some advantages? Compared to buckling spring keyboards (IBM Model M or not), today's keyboards are pure shit. Plus they are full of multimedia useless bullshit they add for moronic end users.
