Getting this after attempting to install Knoppix onto harddrive. What the hell do I do?

Just totally rewrite the first 10 megs of your HD, that'll be equivalent. To do that, boot a Lunix OS, and use dd (man dd) to copy data from /dev/null to the desired hard disk (in /dev/hd*, Google to learn how to tell).
