usb ports screwed or just the peripherals?

got a serious problem with my usb's. i got an eyetoy cam for ps2 and a scanner(eyetoy is normal usb and scanner 2.0). when i plug in the eyetoy or the scanner it just says "unknown device" or "usb 2.0 device"(scanner). but because of that i cant install the drivers because it should recognize both as a logitech usb cam(or something like that) and a scanner to be able to install the drivers.

any ideas? are my usb ports screwed or is it just the eyetoycam and the scanner? the eyetoy worked before fine(but i had to plug it in 100x times to get it recognized as a cam) and my printer works fine too(first try).

It's not your port..... besides you do know you can update the drivers manually if you know where you put the .inf files for them.

yes i know but windows doesnt install them even if i choose the inf files. it only worked when my eyetoy cam was recognized as a cam when plugged in
