how do I make a directory like for the web?

I want to make a section of my website gallery like this, for the scrap sketches since there will be so many.  How do I make it like this where there's like no html, just links to the pictures?

Create a file named httaccess in the directory of your choice and add the line 'option +indexes' to it.
