I recentlly instaled an A8N Sli Premiun mother in my PC. For the first moth It worked just fine, but a week ago the computer started to be way slower than usual. I also have:
AMD Athlon X2 +3800
2GB DDR 400 Corsair
2x 250 gb Seagate Barracuda SATA 2 (in RAID 1 with the on board controller)
EVGA GeForce 6800 GS
When I log on windows it starts to look something in the disk (I know this because of the noise it makes) and it doesnt respond to any command until a minute or so. After that every time it has to look in the hard drives it takes a lot of time, and sometimes it stops responding for a second or two.
I already tried formatting, to discard a virus/trojan/etc, but the result is the same. I made an Check disk and a defrag, but nothing. It is weird, but when I formatted the disk it took 1 1/2 hours to format a 60 GB partition, and when I did it for the first time, it only took 30 minutes.
I also downloaded the Seatools (a free program to check the health of your disks) and when it tried to make the "deep scan" it took forever, in 12 hours it scaned 10% of the disk (is this normal?).
I also tried other prgram to scan the discks (the "drive fitness test" from hitachi, with similar results, it took 2 1/2 hours to scan the disk) but it showed nothing.
When I boot the computer the RAID shows no problem, but I am starting to thnk it may be a problem with the RAID controller as the disks (and the rest of the PC seems to be perfect).
My motherboard is running with the BIOS version 1009 (from factory) and has all the drivers correctly instaled.
Does anyone know if there is a way to find what is really wrong!?
Thanks
