Sharing internet connection using PC

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-10 7:57

Hey all...

This might be a long-shot, but is it possible to share my single university connection (PPPoE) between my PC and laptop? My PC's mobo has 2 ethernet ports if that helps at all.

Thanks

It is, connect your PC to the Uni using one ethernet interface, then connect the laptop to your PC using another ethernet interface, then Google for how to make the PC route using either Unix-based OSes or Windows NT.

On the ethernet controller/port that you are going to SHARE, right click properties, and there should be a checkbox to allow other computer to connect to the internet throught this interface thingie. Run network setup wizard on both computer, on the server choose the correct option, reboot.

Use a floppy disk to transfer captured Ethernet packets from one host to another.
