Joining files

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-09 19:53

So, Im using xnews to download some stuff.  And then theres a few jpgs that is some in one file and the rest in another (eg: 01.jpg 01_0.jpg).  Soem sort of 500Kb cutoff before the program writes into the next file.

Err, anyways, how do I join files together?

Who said cat is a Unix utility?

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-10 11:03

cat sure isnt a windows command.  Or am I wrong?  The website that was linked was also mentioning Unix.

cat is part of the GNU utilities which are available for many OSes, both Unix and non-Unix OSes. For example, cat is not bundled with Windows but there are many versions of cat (most of which are GNU cat ports) for Windows.
