My left button on my MX510 is starting to fade. Is there any home remedy to fix this?

The only big improvement in mice in years was getting rid of the ball. Trust me, everything else is gravy.
The old rolly-ball square two-button Dexxa mice weren't that bad either, so it makes me wonder what the hell all this zOMG MX is about. My cheap $15 mouse fits in my hand, has a scrolly wheel, six (half which I never use) buttons, and most importantly, optical. It doesn't lock, and its resolution is insane.
