Lots of people are having this problem. It's some kind of error with 4chan itself.

The mods on 4chan's IRC chat apparently know about this problem. I assume they're trying to fix it.

Yeah, I was banned from 4chan on all boards.

First it said that I was banned on December 2009 for Anon-talk spam with the IP (71.94.220.56). I only posted once and usually lurk.
I appeal it, then I go back 2 days later and it says that they can't find a reason on file.

And I quote for the second time of going on:

Who said anything about Mibbit? Rizon is the IRC server, not Mibbit. James already posted the instructions to get onto the #4chan channel a few posts up.

Here are the steps to getting to the place for a 4chan ban appeal:

1.) Go to http://qchat.rizon.net/
2.) Fill in a nickname.
3.) Hit connect.
4.) Hit "Ok" when it asks you to register.
5.) Follow the instructions.
6.) Once registered, type /join #4chan in the bar on the bottom of the screen.
7.) Write that you want to appeal your ban and then discuss with the first operator or half-operator that responds. (They'll have either a @ or % to the left of their nickname, respectively.)

What's the news on the 4chan cached ban error?

Is there anything about it on 4chan's IRC?

I went to the IRC a few days ago and talked to a mod. Apparently they're aware of the issues but they don't have any solution for it at the moment. They said something about emailing some specific guy cached HTTP details, but I don't really remember. You guy would have to go on the IRC yourselves.

Anyone know if resetting your router does anything with this error ban?

Finding the thread funny I posted a picture some concept art of an civil protection officer.

About an hour later I received a message that I was banned for 48 hrs for replying to a CP request thread. I had a good giggle at that.

However it's been 4 days now and I would really  appreciate being able to go on 4chan again.

48 hours, well that's nothing, I was banned for weeks. Oh and I was unbanned recently too, although I think that was an 'automatic' response to a fix they did.

Now I can finally see 4chan with 4chanX and OneeChan userstyle enabled. It's like breathing oxygen again.

So I post. Whoops, banned - from that post, mind you. Okay, I browsed around a bit more because my ISP routes out using several IP addresses. I try posting again, and again, instabanned. Both were perfectly legit, non-bannable posts btw.

Turns out all my ISP's IP's are fucking blacklisted on 4chan as "proxy's". WHAT. THE. FUCK.

I didn't use a proxy, hence being able to use 4chan & nice userstyle and have full site functionality. The fuck is wrong with 4chan? Blacklisting IP's as proxys seemingly at random?

So I can read 4chan now, though about 30% of my outrouted IP's are 'banned'. The remaining 70% seem to stay unbanned so long as I don't post.

I got the cached ban error for the /a/ board a while back, after my /a/ ban expired on(pretty sure) 1/18/2012.

For about 3 weeks, I couldn't access /a/ at all.

Now I can access /a/ and browse threads, and post. However, I often get kicked back to the main page of 4chan whenever I refresh, open a thread, or finish a post. I also sometimes get the ban error message whenever I try to open /a/ from the 4chan home page.

I have to keep The Yotsuba Catalog for /a/ open in one tab, so I can keep clicking a thread until it lets me enter. It appears that the chances of opening a thread successfully, or getting kicked, are totally random. I've downloaded the new Google Chrome extension for 4chan, and I'm still having this issue.

I'm so grateful for being able to post on /a/ again at all; but I'd like for the mods to please keep working on it. (assuming that's why it's partially fixed now) Is anybody else having similar problems? Maybe doing a DNS flush would fix it now?
