MPC doesnt play any h264 files :(

Ok, ive gotten the h264 files to play, but they lag like shit which they don't in VLC.
can anyone help me out here? it sucks having to use VLC for h264 files and then MPC for everything else ( im used to it)
greatly appreciated.
