Some websites not displaying japanese correct

Hello people,

so I can surf lots of sites in japanese, and all symbols are shown correctly. But there are also some sites where the symbols are not shown correctly.
Compare "只今リニューアル中" (Oh I hope it'll display properly here :p) for example, with "B`ƒnƒKƒNƒŒ`)ƒZƒb".
 Could someone please explain this, and tell me if I could solve this somehow . Thanks

I tried with Internet Explorer too, same thing there. I find it strange since some other websites displays perfectly.

I think it's webmaster's problem, who do not know what is character encoding and how to deal with it (for example sending charset=... after a MIME type).

Probably under jap. version of IE their sites works, so they think there is no problem. This is not only japanese-sites problem ;-)

Few people have a fucking clue about character sets, they just pres butan write sight and if it works in their computer it's alright, fuck the world. Americans know the least (they still think all you ever need is ASCII), the Japanese tend to not know or not want to know, and Europeans are the best informed but still lacking.

Charset should be sent by the server because Gecko-based browsers are stupid (can't override Content-Type with META HTTP-EQUIV), then a META HTTP-EQUIV wouldn't be bad and if you're using UTF-8 you might even want to send the BOM.
