Antivirus Software

Hey, everyone. I know maybe 4chan isn't the best place to ask but, in hopes of actually finding a serious answer, here's my question:

I've had Panda Antivirus installed in my computer for ages now. I don't complain: it's a nice AV and all but I do want to know if there's a better antivirus out there that helps me the same or even more than how this ol' geezer software has so far.

What's the best antivirus program for you? What do you use and why do you like it? I seriously need some pointers in order to decide if I keep this one or go for another one.

Thanks very much for the advice.

Most people don't know how to analyse their AV, but I can tell you I got a positive experience with Norton, I downloaded a 0day exploit for Internet Explorer (createTextRange), and when opening in Firefox Norton's heuristics blocked it, without having it's signs yet latter that day I got the signs (it detects some shellcode).
On another day it didn't detect an Instant messenger virus, only also later that day (heuristics failed), but was an easy to spot virus without malicious code, only ads.
Norton can be free for 6 days throught the Google Pack, well after that your windows should be fkd up enough to make a reinstall ;P
Adaware on the other hand doesn't do a shit, instead it gives you warnings about inocent cookies.
I'm still reviewing my antivirus so I don't know nothing else. I didn't use an antivirus for years, I've been using Linux :P
