How to check for effects of bad RAM.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-25 9:08

I have a Debian system I use as a webserver and headless torrent box. This morning I woke up and it was beeping and the powerlight was flashing so I reboot and disabled the quick POST. I had recently added 3 more 128mb DIMMs taken from older machines (to a total of 512mb) so that was my first guess at the trouble.

After trying each stick with the long BIOS memory test seperately I found that two of the sticks had turned bad overnight. Is there any way to check for filesystem corruption or other adverse effects of the failed RAM?
