Opteron 165 is -Dual Core- *plus* 1MB of Cache instead of the 512k of Cache per core on the equivilent mainstream model, the A64.
Opteron 165 is worth the extra expense ontop of the Athlon 64 X2 3800. But only if you want Dual Core. If you want single core; go a 3700+

The 165 /1.80 costs more money because it contains move Level 2 cache than the others. The more L2 cache you have, the better your computer's performance. However, L2 cache is quite expensive, and that is why the other two processors are cheaper
