Network problem :S

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-13 14:43

Hi, I've been having trouble with my internet connection; every few days it seems to crash and I have to reset my router.  Anyway, I noticed a bunch of unsolicited incoming connections on port 6881 on my router's log, unsolicited because I closed Azureus 8 hours ago.  Is it normal for people to keep trying to connect to me for this long, or is there something wrong?  My router is disregarding all of them I guess, 'cause they never make it to my computer (when I have azureus open, it works fine).  Could this be affecting my connection?

My router is a BEFW11S4, but this problem (or something similar) has persisted over several routers.  This is the first time I noticed the abnormal incoming 6881 connections, though.

Haha, I'm stupid, sorry.  What I meant to say was that my router is a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router (I'm hard-wired right now), model BEFW11S4.

what do you do to reset the router? cut it's power? select the reset command in the config?

this happens to my friend a lot, he's a heavy BT user as well. I'm guessing that it's fairly normal. also, the packets are probably being sent to your computer irregardless of whether azureus is running or not.
