ILLEGAL INTERNET SHOW!

Take note that I have no intention of making any sort of internet show, most especially one that would break any US laws.

I've been thinking about the possibly of an illegal internet show, a show that wouldn't be afraid to provide links, pictures, and other information linked to highly illegal material.

Sure, anybody can MAKE one, but how would you go about putting it on the net so that people can download and watch/listen to it?

An idea I had of actually getting it online without getting caught would be to get the finished product onto a laptop, drive a few miles from your house and upload it via somebody elses' open wifi. For an added touch of security, you could setup Tor on your laptop so that the cops would have a harder time looking for where it was originally uploaded from.

Hmm, but what would be a good place to store this material online? There are so many quick solutions, but all of which could shut you down in a heartbeat. irc and bittorrent (seed it for as little time as possible, then hope the horde of leechers could keep it alive) could work, but then it really limits you to the niche of people that know how to do that stuff, which actually might be best, since these types are probably more than likely the best audience for an illegal internet show.

Lastly, could the cops track you down with your voice in the show? I think you'd have to be either stupid or crazy to show your face, which would identify you real quick, but for a show to work you gotta talk. I guess if you were really paranoid you could use a voice masker.

Upload to servers in foreign countries?

Why don't you just use freenet? It's anonymous and is a form of semi-persistent storage. From what I understand it's already flooded with kiddie pron.

But why does it even have to be a show? Shows are for entertainment, definitely not the most efficient means of distributing the kinds of information you're talking about.

Plus, what illegal material (other than kiddie porn) would you be able to get your hands on that the authorities would really sweat about? Confidential government info? Who would care about it except terrorists?

The alien technology called Podcasting that fell from the skies late last year would probably work.

For non techies: Record the A/V to a file, torrent it, share it. If you are paranoid, just hack a couple zombies and upload it through a chain of them.
