LCD screen flickering

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-06 14:25

simple as that...my LCD screen keeps flickering. It's buggin' the crap outta me...Anyone know what this could be? It just randomly happend. :(

I got it fixed, changed the refresh rate. I guess 75 is too much, but it's been fine so far. :( Oh well.

LCD screens don't actually have a refresh rate, only CRT screens do.

LCD screens do actually have a refresh rate, they just don't flicker like CRT screens do because they don't produce their images by having a single electron beam whizz past and hopefully get back to the same spot again before the afterglow of that spot fades noticeably. The pixels of an LCD are lit (or unlit) constantly, and are changed x times per second, which is the refresh rate.

I suspect the op's flickering problem was just being caused by the LCD's circuitry being unable to keep up with the higher 75Hz refresh rate. Cheap LCD?

I thought most LCDs were native at 60Hz.

75 Hz is the native refresh rate for most.
