The power of the Internet compels you

I have many priorities in life, yet wasting time on the computer seems to be my most frequent activity.  I can plan to wisely the remaining hours in my day, yet waste it checking messageboards or websites for absolutely no reason.  The computer is so close, so available, and so easy to waste several hours on doing nothing.  How do you tell yourself to ignore using the computer and focus on what you need to accomplish?

i try and use the computer and/or the internet to help me accomplish what i need to do. for example, i need to study some physics and maths, so i post to wikipedia/wikibooks with what i know, look up what i dont know in a textbook, and try and post it from memory. whenever i need a quick break, i check a few sites. try and find something that can help you with your tasks.
