IRC Problem

For some reason, when I use a torrent program, my IRC ping timeouts like crazy. So long as I continue talking in IRC, it maintains the connection, but if I idle for what seems to be a completely random amount of time, I get disconnected. I have no problem reconnecting, but it does not disconnect me immediately, IRC hangs for a while until I say something, then disconnects and reconnects immediately.

If it is of any importance, I am using a Linksys BEFW11s4 Wireless-B Router. I've tried changing torrent programs, but to no avail, the problem persists. It has been going on for quite a long time now, but I'm beginning to lose my patience with it.

I'll work with this solution, since I have a channel that I hang out in that isn't really much active conversation, and sending one omega symbol every 2 minutes shouldn't bother anyone.
