The Quest for a Notebook

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-02 21:25

I'm currently in the market for a notebook computer. Let me explain my bento-box-esque needs:
-Firstly, price. Under 1k moneys, preferably in the 800 dollar range.
-Of course, it doesn't need to be a powerhouse. I'm going to be using this basically as a web-surfing computer. Hardest thing on it will be DVD movies and .avi files. Some writing, and some Dungeons and Dragons dice rolling, campaign managing programs, but those are low end. Gaming I don't care much about (that is what this machine is for). I'm thinking 512 ram, under 100 gb HD (about 60-80, perhaps; most of the files I can backup to my desktop). I'm not too sure about what processor I should be looking at. Most of what I see retail are Celerons. Suggestions?
-I'm probably going to buy this from a business like Circuit City, Best Buy, Dell, etc. Are there any brands/deals I should look into or stay away from?

From surfing around and using my limited experience, I think this looks nice; what do you think? http//www.bestbuy.com/...

If you get a HP laptop, make certain it's one of their business lines.
