Firefox Extensions?

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-28 19:28

Are there any good firefox extensions that turn down the volume on games, so I can like, play a flash game and have my music in the background w/o having to pause winamp for the audio in the flash?

This would be very helpful in place of having to hear both the flash and the winamp at the same time. Also, is firefox on a different audio line on the PC? Cause if so I can just adjust that in my volume settings on windows.

Thanks for reading, y'all

Session Saver might be able to help?

I think you have an interesting idea for a plugin. I've never seen one like that, but then I avoid Flash as much as possible, so... It *might* just be a preferences setting in the Flash plugin, so check for that.

Whut?

Can't be done, just disable Flash

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-29 6:01

Lawl Furryfox users have to avoid flash because their peice of shit browser can't cope with it.
Ultimate uber fail.

Crappy troll, it's the same with MSIE

Exactly. I avoid Flash because of the possibility of running into sites that abuse it. (Hello walk-over ads!)

If all sites used it intelligently and kindly, it would be an okay technology.

Flash should be embraced, not feared. You've just been brainwashed by the Failfux Cult.

Hey nub, you know there's more to the web browser scene than FaggotFux and IE, right?

Flash sucks, and it sucked way back before Mozilla 1.0 when I used MSIE. Flash sucks because:
- It's sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow even in Athlon 64s.
- It's webmaster-centric bullshit: users can't stop or hide them. This sucks big balls; I reign over my box and everything that happens in it and I want to be able to stop that shit ad.
- It's animated. Animations are the worst thing to hit the web to me. Can't stand them. Furfox has the image.animation_mode once, which is great because it allows me to see GIFs ONE time, then stop bugging.
- It's not dynamically sized. Flash videos, Flash vector graphics, etc. automatically fail, both in a practical way (can't see shit fullscreen and properly) and in a theoreteical way (the web is meant to be resolution independent).

And finally, just to troll a bit,

- It's not GEE PEE ELLLL *whine* *whine*

But seriously, I don't mind it being a closed technology from Macromedia, but I hate it for these four reasons.

Ah total failure. Guess what? The net doesn't belong to you. What the fuck right do you have to decide what is and is not on a webpage? None whatsoever. Don't like part of the content? Fuck off then.

Close source products are always superior; always. There's a reason Windows is the dominant platform. Professional, closed source, code.

I'm 99% sure you're being ironic, but in case you're not: lol you've obviously never worked on a closed sauce project.

I have the right because once I fetch it off HTTP, it's in my fucking machine, therefore I rule over it.

That's why I have my custom User-Agent CSS to ban some HTML tags I don't like like MARQUEE or BLINK. Furfox is a good browser. It's user-oriented, and it will do what I want over what others want, since it runs on my machine.

Why do people keep saying Furfox instead of Firefox?

furry fans?

Because Firefox users are alot like Furry's. They beleive they have some cult relgion to defend and that the entire world is out to get them. Somehow they also beleive they're leading some kind of revolution and that people actually care.

Same as >>1

This thread has degraded into a flamewar, is there or is there not any Firefox extensions that follow this description?

What about an extension to turn down the volume just embedded media; excluding flash. Like .wav and .mp3 files embedded in a page.

This is incredibly useful, the closest thing, in terms of useful ness has been DownloadThemAll for me. But that's about it. Just post some really useful extensions if you can't find this one.

I'm going to do some looking too.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-01 10:45

Also, Firefox is superior due to it's large community; responsiveness to bugs; and hundreds upon hundreds of useful extensions.

Not that IE doesn't have those; but for IE it's just spyware toolbars for Yahoo, which are useless.

Same as >>26 by the way.

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-02 0:31

Idiot. Firefox has more unpatched security holes than Opera. Wheres your 'fast responsiveness' now?

:?

Dunno, lol. Can you reccomend a better browser with the equivalent of DownloadThemAll and StumbleUpon? And with the 4chan extension?

Huh?

Opera has an equivalent to DownThemAll built right into the browser, and if you look, you can find a StumbleUpon toolbar for it as well.

As for the 4chan extension, unnecesssary.  But, the fychan UserJS comes close.
