hey i just got a laptop since i will be going on a year long trip where i will have no access to another private computer probably.
well the thing is I was transferring porn over to my laptop from my main pc when i suddenly noticed that the heads and bodies of the girls were noticebly wider than they should be on my laptop..
i compared the same pictures on my pc and laptop again and again just to make sure and yes, the same picture of the girl on my laptop had a wider face and body than the one on the pc.
at that moment i turned emo thinking that for the rest of the year i would be viewing and fapping to incorrectly sized body proportions of my favorite models and stars.
ive tried to fix the aspect ratio (maintain aspect ratio in graphic options, but everything is still the same. Are laptop screens just wider than normal pc monitors? My computer is a inspiron 2200 with pentium M, could there be a fix for this?
ive tried changing the aspect ratio to graphic

Your laptop monitor is widescreen (aspect ratio higher than 4/3), but you've set a 4:3 mode like 1024x768. Change your resolution to something like 1280x768 and try to discover your monitor's aspect ratio if you can't find it in the manual. If you hit the native resolution, it should look much better and crisper, it's easy to tell. (Tip: this happens because TFTs suck.)
hmmm the only screen resolution settings that appear are 800x600 and 1024x768, any idea why is that?

ok ive gotten the resolution to change to 1280x768, but now its even wider. I dont think i can manually decrease the width since TFT sizes are fixed
Is there any way i can resolve this? :(

Be sure you've got the right video drivers loaded.

Man, these new wide-screen laptops suck. People are too stupid to realize that they're getting half the screen for the same price.
ITS WIDESCREEN IT MUST BE AWESOMEZ

OTL
i have gotten as far as correcting the boot up screen ratios (by changing video bios settings). I thought it was going to work But when i try to change the ratio while in windows it doesnt change at all, just stays as the same crappy stretched image.

Most video players have a screen ratio setting.

wow, a widescreen hater. I thought this whole animosity toward a better aspect ratio ended years ago...
Anyway, d/l the right video drivers, reboot, and stop being a whinny bitch.

OMGZ IHAVE A PENTIUM M AND THE CHICKS ON MY COMPUTAR IS LIKE TOTALLY WIERD WHAT IS WRONG?!?
I don't have problems with widescreen. I have a problem with these shitty new laptops with fucking tiny screens. They're at least a third smaller than a normal screen. Why the fuck would anybody want one, especially since they go at the same or higher price?
Oh, right, right, it's widescreen! Everyone knows that if it's widescreen it must be the best thing evar! I bet you could sell idiot consumers a 50Hz interlaced 12" CRT if it was widescreen!

Agree, although I still like 4:3 better, it better accomodates everything. Windowed applications lay out better (consider how many wide vs tall windows you usually have), text and code lays out better (lines too long are harder to read, and text too big fits less lines on a screen), games and VR play better (you usually need counter, toolbars, etc., put these at the bottom of the screen and keep a free wide space above, TV accomodates better to it (a person's face and a person fits better), and only movies may accomodate worse because movie guys are obsessed with that black guy from Star Trek's glasses or something.
And yes, people is retarded. If you sell a, say, 40x30 cm monitor for $X, and a cut version of 40x22 cm, for $X*1.2, people will buy the later because it's zOMG WIDESCREEN! Same with CRT and TFT, and many other things. They must think widescreen has more megahertz or something.
