Windows problem

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-22 17:19

This is gay.

It won't let me install windows 2k on this computer. I'm using xp right now. It says that the cd i'm trying to use is older version of windows therefore installation of windows 2k will be disabled.

1)don't choose the upgrade option (there should be a 'install from scratch' item you can choose)

2)boot from the 2k cd and install it manually.

There is, you have to find it. You may have to run winnt32 from the i386 folder of the cd, though.

Did you even TRY to boot the cd, btw? If you can't boot it, can you boot any other bootable cds?

look around your bios options; there should be a seperate "boot" or "boot options" or similar. If there isn't anything obvious, look around your advanced options.

when i ran winnt32 it said "err data cab. 1" or something
