hay /comp/, recommend something like picasa2 or iview media or explain why either one of those is better than everything else.

The last version of Picasa2 I tried (six months ago) was rather rotten. I no longer recall all the issues, but there were plenty of them.
iView MediaPro is a lot better in most regards. Small, decently fast, supports volumes and all that. The main problem is it depends on QuickTime libraries, which will crash on a dime if you give them a malformed image. If MediaPro didn't rely on QT, it would be far better.
Having said that, chances are you'll rarely use either of them, and if you do, probably not properly.
