VLC media player problems

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-19 14:13

I'm having a problem with the VLC media player. When ever I try and use it to play something the video is choppy. It freezes on one frame then after a time skips up to where it should be. It is also leaving after images of the old screen when it does this, like when you fast forward. The sound is fine its just the video. The files work on my other computer so I know its not their fault, any ideas on how to fix this?

Use mplayer, VLC is shit.

Make sure it's not your codecs, and as >>2 said, use MPC.

A quick and reliable way to do this is to uninstall all your codecs and download/install CCCP.

Mplayer on win32 is a joke. MPC is way to go.

I use it, works great. Admittedly I run it from cygwin, but that's largely a convenience issue.

VLC is only really good for Linux or OS X, other than that, it has a lot of problems
