I was wonder if there is a version of this that plays movies? The version I have does nothing, it just gives me an error when I try to load a quicktime video telling me it couldn't find the required compressor.

Quicktime is a movie player.
You have a currupt install. Get the latest version if you must.
Quicktime fails hard though, fyi.

Ah, it does fail hard, but it's the only thing to my knowledge that plays quicktime video.

QuickTime is more of a framework than anything else, and QuickTime can play and encode any movie it has the codec for. If someone has encoded a QuickTime movie with a codec that you do not have then you'll have to install it, and if it is not freely available then you're SOL.

It was a movie trailer, I got it working now. Is there a way to make it play on my TV? Windows media player has the option to do so when you right click a file. In full screen all I see is a green box with quicktime.
