Dreamhost

Hi all...

A few months ago, a guy came to our channel with some hosting for a couple of episodes we fansubbed. He said I could have a referral-promo-code from a friend (who works at Dreamhost) that gave a level 1 hosting plan for $29 a YEAR. We're currently forming a community of /m/goers and want a method of sharing stuff that doesn't involve DCC/BT/etc.

To cut a long story short, I (stupidly) cancelled my domain with 1&1, hoping to sign it up with Dreamhost. After a few months, it still hadn't been released... now the guy with the code has disappeared from the internet.

Does anyone know if a code that gives that much of a discount is possible outside of employee circles? If so, anyone fancy helping us out?

I'd seen that, but I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to be paying. Is this the same level of promo-code as the guy I knew had been given by his friend who works there?

In the image the guy posted ( http://wai.dreamhost.com/promo_code_create.png ), it says Yearly L1 for $119.40-97.00=22.40. Of course that's valid for just one year, the code you're talking about might've been for more?

Ah OK, I thought it was that much, but it seemed too good to be true. The other guy with the code gave a discount that was slightly less than that, so this is an insanely good deal.

Like I said, it's for a small community, so if I pay for the first, we might all be able to chip in for the following years.
