Using two different RAM brands on laptop?

I have two sticks of 256MB DDR RAM that I've already been using on my laptop. One is branded Hynix, and the other Samsung, and both are PC2100S. Will the differing brands mess anything up, or is it ok as long as they're the same type?

Brands matter not, unless your BIOS is stupid.

The whole point of both sticks being the same type is that they would be compatible with each other. So, yes, its okay as long as they are the same type.
