Webcam, using a normal digital camera?

Is there a way of using your normal camera as a webcam? I have a Sony DSC-W12 which has a video mode, but is it possible to broadcast live with it?

you can only do it if your digicam has webcam capabilities. if it connects thru USB or firewire, chances are that it does, but you probably should check with that. the alternative is to use the little thingy you can use to connect the camera to the tv and put it in to a tv in card, as some TV in cards are recognised by MSN as a webcam.

i tried connecting through USB but MSN didn't recognize it...

Unless it's specifically stated that it can be used as a webcam, it can't, even if it can do video. It's something to do with the CCD not being suitable for use for long periods of time.
