IBM Thinkpad R30 screen is too bright

Hey guys.

So I had this R30 for a few weeks now, and I put ubuntu on it.

The screen is REALLY bright. Like it's uncomfortable looking at it for anymore than 30-60 mins.

I haven't found anything in ubuntu that changes screen brightness and there doesn't seem to be any controls on the laptop itself to change this.
