I'm looking for a free, no-strings-attached compression utility that does Zip, and possibly rar as well. WinZip and WinRar have trial periods of 30 days.
Also, a free burning utility would be nice.

This site is a bittorrent site, anything that can be pirated will be pirated and dumped here for the world. If you don't know what bittorrent is and you are gibbled/mauled in a fashion that prevents you from visiting www.google.com every once and awile then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent
This site should help you.
Because Demonoid is by invite I give anyone from world4ch an invite.

Yeah, but they carry on working after the 30 days are up. If you can put up with a single nag message you can click instantly past you're laughing. If you absolutely insist on using something that's free, go with 7-Zip - http://www.7-zip.org/ .

Oh, and for free CD/DVD burning, go with CDBurnerXP Pro - http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ . It really is an outstanding piece of software, even better than many commercial packages.

DeepBurner or CDBurnerXP Pro as bove, and 7-Zip.
7-Zip is the status-quo OSS compression utility. It has just about the same GUI and features as WinRAR.

>status-quo
I think you mean "de facto". "Status quo" means "current state of affairs". Or the British rock band formed in the 1960s.

There's also IZArc. I haven't used it as much as 7-Zip, but it seems to have a nicer interface. It supports more formats too.
