Transfering DVD's to a hard drive

How excatly would I take an anime from a DVD and stick it on my hard drive. Like, what program would i use, what program would format the file, what format should i save it too, ect. Thanks in advance for any answers.

You use a ripping program. Google it.

i use dvd decrytor to rip to vob

then use AutoGK to convert the vob to an avi
