Gameing mice/mouse pads.

So, what do you guys recomend for a good gameing mouse. I've been thinking about getting the Logitec G5/G8 or the Razer Diamondback. I dont know much about either of these mice, but the Diamondback has been recomended to me a few times. And what about mouse pads? I've herd of the C4 mouse pad from cs hyde (just google C4 mouse pad, the URL is too long). Is that one any good? Thanks in advance for any advice. 

Careful using mouse pads with opticals. The last pad I had was shiny and reflected the reader, so the mouse went all over the screen.
