Can anyone recomend a program, preferably free, that'll do what Maxblast does without needing a maxtor driver.

Dunno, lol. No seriously, your question sucks. You say neither what Maxblast does, nor what kind of OS you're running. How'd you like it if I suggested a tool that requires a Taiwanese version of Win95, or perhaps NetBSD?
