Hey dudes, I recently bought a 300gb maxtor drive and put it in my chassis and hooked up the IDE cables and PSU and shit.
Anyway, when I go to actually *install* the thing (with the software provided), I get a warning telling my that WinXP doesn't support hard drives over 137GB. That's okay, I guess, I thought I could partition the drive into three seperate 100GB drives.
But I can't. For some reason, I can only make one 137GB partition, pretty much wasting the other 173GB.
I'm not too worried though, the drive only cost me 80 dollars (brand new, it was some after-holiday sale at CompUSA).
But I would like to use the drive! Any suggestions as to how to overcome this 137GB limitation? I'm running a copy of WinXP SP1, so I really can't update (and I haven't had any luck with finding an ISO of SP2) anything.
