Program to monitor heat of my laptop...

My laptop tends to get really hot and I was looking for suggestions on a program that'll be able to tell me how much heat is being generated by the machine...I'm not too sure about this but I was told that you can monitor the  temperature of the processor with a program.

So...any suggestions?

Try Speedfan,it can tell you the Mainboard readouts concerning Temps Fansspeed etc.

I had posted here a few months ago about something to help cool the computer down...I bought a cooling pad and it's been working alright.  It gets a little hot...but I think the problem lies with the fan since the heat doesn't dissipate.
