Dual channel + ?

Hi,

I'm on a box with 256MB 3200 memory. It was bought on a tight budget as a lifesaver after the old one suddenly died. Now I'm about to give it a much needed boost.

Question: if I add a 2x512MB to the current 256MB, will the 2x512MB work as a dual channel 2x512MB with additional 256MB, or as a regular 1280MB?

Also, if it can only work as regular, would you suggest using it that way, or getting rid of the 256MB to have dual channel?

The mobo is NF7-S2G, if that matters (I know it doesn't go well with "tight budget", but that was the one thing I didn't wanted to go cheap on).

If you use the 256 MB stick alongside the 2x512 the bus will only run as fast as the lower speed (most likely the 3200).
I say get rid of the single stick, it may just cause you problems running alongside your duals.
