CRT Televisions?

I am shopping for a good PC screen for movies and gaming.
I will be using something like a 7800 GT card or better.
I am considering getting this monitor if I can find someone that sells it.
Specs-sheet:

I've also found some huge CRT televisions like those here:

Since the viewsonic is already $xxx I was wondering about getting a CRT TV instead so...
1) Is it possible to hook up one of these as a computer screen
2) Is there a major trade-off between the bigger size and actual image
   quality.
3) How do Plasma and LCD televisions stackup in quality?
Space isn't really a concern and I'm sure I could scrape up the extra money since the viewsonic is already so much. However, would I be better off with the viewsonic in the end?

1) Yes. I haven't seen many CRT TVs that have VGA inputs, so your video card will need to have a TV output of some kind. Failing that you can get a VGA-TV converter box.
2) Compared to smaller CRT televisions? Somewhat so, because you're scaling an image of fixed resolution up to a larger size. Compared to monitors? It's a world of difference - you'll think someone has been sandpapering your corneas trying to look at PC displays on a CRT television. They simply aren't as high resolution as a monitor. For movie watching it isn't really an issue because you can't go beyond the resolution of DVD (they were designed to be shown on televisions after all), but for gaming the results may prove very disappointing - anything above 800x600 won't make a difference to the clarity of the picture.
3) Plasma and LCD screens are typically higher resolution than CRT televisions, are generally less blurry, and often have VGA and/or DVI inputs. However, they are only the same resolution (roughly) as smaller LCD monitors (unless you go into HDTV territory, which is more expensive).

In short, a big CRT television will look like ass compared to a (decent) big CRT computer monitor, but a big CRT television will cost much less than a monitor of equivalent size.

Thank you for your quick, concise, and helpful reply.
I'm gonna go with the Viewsonic, as soon as I find a reseller that has it in stock..
