Microsoft sucks, because they can't give me a definitive soution to my problem. So, I ask you /comp/, to help me.
I have an NVDIA Geforce 4 MX 64MB video card. It is DirectX 9 compatible, and never gave me problems in the past. I had spyware, so I restored my PC and reinstalled drivers and DirectX. Now I'm having a problem playing games I played on my computer before I restored it. Apparently, Direct3d is faulty. I tested it in DxDiag and the rotating blick turns into a peah and green blob when it tests DX 8. MS doesn't give me a solution other than to turn it off and now I can't play Civ4 or anything on the Source engine, because they check my Direct3d/Draw settings before launch and refuse to launch without the features enabled. I am 100% POSITIVE my graphics card can un these games, I ran them before restoring my PC. Any suggestions? (I've reinstalled my NVIDIA driver FIVE TIMES.)
